Resource One CU Supports Sorority Spring Retreat at UT Arlington
Thursday, April 21, 2016 6:50 AM

Recently, Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority held their biannual Spring Retreat at the University of Texas-Arlington. More than 100 collegiate and alumnae members attended the event, which was geared toward the personal and professional development of their collegiate membership.

Resource One Credit Union hosted sessions that instructed members on emotional intelligence for personal and leadership development. Director of Cultural Enhancement Phillip Crocker presented a class on “Our Money Habits,” which addressed how people can successfully change and overcome their bad habits.

“It is our human nature to form habits," said Crocker. "It’s just who we are as creatures. Some habits are positive in nature while others keep us from living the lives we desire. One thing we can be certain of; our habits are like a blindness that, in so many cases, prevents us from seeing who we are being in the world. Unless a strong enough reason to change exists, we will never change how we act, and our habits will rule the day."

Other workshops included "Healthy Eating" with a cooking demonstration and the American Heart Association's "Hands Only" CPR seminar.
