Senate candidate and current Rep. Susan King met with credit union leaders in the Temple area. King is running to be the Republican nominee for the senate district which runs through central Texas, from Abilene to Bandera, and includes Temple and Fort Hood. In the House, she serves as chair of the Texas House Committee on Defense and Veterans' Affairs.

Rep. King and the attendees discussed the importance of maintaining an independent regulatory agency for state-chartered credit unions, keeping the Self-Directed Semi Independent (SDSI) status for the Texas Credit Union Department, data security, and tax issues.

"I appreciate Rep. Susan King stopping by our office to discuss credit union issues," said Gary Janacek, CEO of Scott and White Employees Credit Union.
