Reminder: Tell Your Senator to Vote YES on S. 2155
Tuesday, March 6, 2018 6:50 AM

Cornerstone is calling on credit unions to contact their senators to vote Yes on S. 2155, the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act.

Contact your senator and tell them to vote YES on S. 2155.

The U.S. Senate has announced that they're taking up S. 2155, which is bipartisan, common-sense reform that protects seniors from elder abuse, makes mortgage processing easier and quicker, increases affordable rental housing in our communities, and helps credit unions provide better service to their members.

“Credit unions have been overwhelmed with regulatory burdens since Dodd-Frank, and S. 2155 represents the best chance to achieve regulatory relief in this Congress,” said Jim Phelps, Cornerstone chief advocacy officer. “Our Senators need to know that credit unions support their efforts, so please don’t delay in taking action.”

Last week, more than 5,000 credit union advocates visited Washington, DC, to speak with their lawmakers about a number of legislative and regulatory concerns and to spread the word about what makes credit unions different. Now we need to urge them strongly to support S. 2155 for the 110 million Americans who depend on credit unions as their financial partners.

Your voice is critical. Please tweet, call, or email your senators now. Let them know that you're a credit union member, too, and ask them to vote YES on S. 2155.
