Reflections of 4455: Janine McBee
Tuesday, April 26, 2016 6:55 AM

As you know, Cornerstone Credit Union League is moving into its new home in Plano, effective May 1. But the staff leaves with many memories from years—and in some cases, decades—of time spent in this building at 4455 LBJ Freeway.

We collected some "Reflections of 4455," and will present them here throughout the week.

Janine McBee

In November 1981, Janine McBee went to work for Southwest Corporate FCU, which is now Catalyst Corporate FCU. McBee, who is Cornerstone's senior director of training and events, recalls, "In 1986, I transferred to their sister organization, the Texas Credit Union League. During all the years since, I’ve been blessed with a variety of opportunities to learn and serve. I expanded a network of credit union and industry supplier friends, married my husband, gave birth to our son, and welcomed his bride into our family."

That's a wealth of life experience that took place inside and out of 4455. "For me, it was sadness when Corporate left our building years ago," McBee says. "Now it’s Catalyst Corporate FCU and the Cornerstone League evolving together to anticipate and serve our credit union needs. It just feels right for the League and Corporate to reside under the same roof again."

McBee also offers a special thank you and shout-out to recently retired Joe Wasaff for hiring her into the league and for mentoring her as she assumed responsibility for Southwest CUNA Management School.

"Whether personal or professional," McBee says, "I treasure my ever-growing credit union family."

Effective May 1, 2016, Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Dallas office is moving to 6801 Parkwood Boulevard, Suite 300, Plano, Texas 75024. Please update your records with our new mailing address. Phone contacts will not change.
