Monday, September 22, 2014 6:25 AM

The second-largest credit union in Texas has expanded its reach into the Dallas area with the opening of two new branch locations. Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union opened its new credit union locations in the Frisco and Plano communities.

According to President/CEO Christopher W. O'Connor, RBFCU saw an opportunity to provide affordable financial products and services to a market area that continues to experience growth year over year.

"We're excited to be able to bring RBFCU to the Dallas area," said Christopher W. O'Connor, President/CEO for RBFCU. "We've built a strong network of branches in South Central Texas, and we believe RBFCU offers competitive products and services that will provide exceptional value to the Collin County community."

While RBFCU was founded in 1952 at Randolph Air Force Base near San Antonio, Texas, the credit union expanded to Austin in 1995. During the past five years, the credit union's membership has grown by 60 percent to more than 475,000 members, and assets have grown by more than 75 percent.

The new branches, located at 1801 Dallas Parkway in Plano and 4040 Preston Road in Frisco, are the first expansion into the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The credit union plans to continue construction in the upcoming months to build additional convenient branches. A location in Allen is currently under construction and scheduled to open in October.
