RBFCU Hosts Readiness Program to Prep Veterans for Civilian Workforce
Wednesday, August 3, 2016 6:55 AM

Our military heroes get world-class training for their missions. However, when they get ready to return to civilian life, they may need some additional preparation to navigate the job market, and two local organizations recently worked together to give back to the military community.

The Centurion Military Alliance (CMA) and Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) partnered to prepare more than 100 military members for the civilian job-seeking process during the 4th Annual Mega Warrior Transition Readiness Program. The free event hosted at the RBFCU headquarters in Live Oak gave service members, veterans, and their spouses a chance to participate in mock interviews, résumé reviews, and receive tips and information on financial readiness, salary negotiations, networking, and more.

“In our formative years, our membership consisted primarily of military service members, so our relationship and support of the military runs deep,” said Mary O'Rourke, chief of staff for RBFCU. RBFCU opened its doors in 1952 serving Randolph-Brooks Air Force Base personnel and later Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. “We’re proud to continue this partnership with the CMA to offer professional preparation and training to the men and women who have served our country.”
