RBFCU and McKinney Chamber Double Donation Goal for Local Food Pantry
Monday, January 25, 2016 7:00 AM

For the second consecutive year, Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) partnered with the McKinney Chamber of Commerce to collect oatmeal for the Community Food Pantry of McKinney, a volunteer-based non-profit which feeds the hungry.

The drive, which focused on the most needed food pantry item at the time, raised more than 2,000 pounds of oatmeal, or more than twice their original goal. The Community Food Pantry of McKinney projects that this year’s collections will be able to provide more than 1,600 meals for children and families in the area.

To date, the non-profit has provided nearly 3 million meals to people in need. In a light month, the pantry provides about 600 dishes of oatmeal and 15,000 meals.
