Over 17 Million New Vehicles in 2015

Edmunds changed its U.S. auto sales forecast to 17.2 million new vehicles sold in 2015, up from their previous forecast of 16.8 million. The industry’s record is 17.4 million cars and light trucks in 2000.

General Motors is in the lead with 1.78 million new vehicles sold through July. Ford is second with 1.51 million vehicles, Toyota is third with 1.45 million vehicles, Fiat-Chrysler is fourth with 1.27 million vehicles and Honda is fifth with 900,000 vehicles sold through July.

For the first seven months the top ten vehicles are Ford F-Series truck, Chevrolet Silverado truck, Toyota Camry sedan, Dodge Ram truck, Toyota Corolla sedan, Nissan Altima sedan, Honda CR-V crossover, Honda Accord sedan, Honda Civic sedan and Ford Fusion hybrid sedan.

Domestics are outselling imports four to one.
