Purple Heart Homes

Sponsor a Project for a Veteran in Need or Make a Donation to Purple Heart Homes

As Credit Unions Care moves forward, Cornerstone is honored to work with Purple Heart Homes: Operation Veteran Home Renovation to help disabled veterans who served our country and safeguarded the freedoms we enjoy. This new addition to the campaign ensures that veterans are recognized in a small way for their sacrifice.

Cornerstone Credit Union League is sponsoring two vets, and we'll post more on them in an upcoming Leaguer article.

You can participate in this worthwhile project in one (or more) of four ways:

  1. First, identify a disabled veteran who needs help. Refer that individual for a project that will make their daily lives much easier.
  2. Second, sponsor a project such as adding ramps, grab bars, railings, a fresh coat of paint inside or outside their home, or cleaning a yard. To be a sponsor, please contact Vicki Thomas at vthomas@phhusa.org or 203-984-2138.
  3. Third, make a donation. No project will exceed $10,000, and the average cost will be about $5,000. To contribute, go to www.purplehearthomesuse.org and click on the Donate button.  When completing the form in the “Please use my donation toward” box, select Credit Unions Care.
  4. Fourth, volunteer your time and talents to completing the project work over the course of a weekend.

This portion of the Credit Unions Care campaign officially kicked off Aug. 8 and will end Nov. 12.

We're so proud of our Cornerstone-affiliated credit unions who have worked diligently under the banner of Credit Unions Care. We hope you'll continue to support our endeavors with Purple Heart Homes: Operation Veteran Home Renovation.
