Oklahoma GAC Features Top State Officials

Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb addresses Oklahoma’s 2016 Governmental Affairs Conference.

The 2016 Oklahoma Governmental Affairs Conference featured addresses from top state officials and league staff and covered a wide variety of topics relevant to Oklahoma credit unions and the state in general.

The conference lunch featured Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb, who provided insight into the current legislative session and emphasized the importance of credit union advocates being actively involved in the legislative process.

Secretary of State Finance Preston Doerflinger provided insight to current budget negotiations and the state’s current fiscal credit.

Cornerstone CEO Dick Ensweiler kicked off the event, while Senior Vice President of Advocacy Jim Phelps and Oklahoma Association President Nate Webb covered league advocacy efforts and provided an update on the progress of priority credit union bills.

The two-day conference concluded Tuesday morning with a legislative breakfast at the state Capitol, and a record number of legislators were on hand to discuss issues important to Oklahoma credit unions.
