Oklahoma Employees Credit Union hosted a coffee and conversation with House District 85 candidate Chip Carter on Aug. 21. Carter is running to replace the late David Dank who passed away in April.

Carter is a pro-business conservative with experience in the private and public sectors. In 2001, he managed the successful campaign to adopt a right-to-work law in Oklahoma through a vote of the people. He also worked on the 1994 and 1996 U.S. Senate campaigns of Jim Inhofe and then served four years on Sen. Inhofe’s staff. He currently serves as vice president of corporate communications and business development for Jones Public Relations.

Carter won the special winner-take-all primary election on July 14. He faces the Democrat opponent on Sept. 8.
