Sine Die BBQ

An impressive number of state legislators visited the Credit Union House in Oklahoma City Tuesday. They were there for the First Annual Sine Die BBQ and reception hosted by the Greater Oklahoma City Chapter of Credit Unions.

The final days before Sine Die, a term indicating the end of the legislative session, is a stressful time at the Capitol, and the event provided a perfect opportunity for lawmakers to take a break from their work and meet with credit unions professionals in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Nearly a third of the 150-member legislature was in attendance to enjoy the great food and entertainment provided by both the chapter and Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Stephen Lark, chapter co-president, said of the event, “It provided credit unions the opportunity to interact and engage with our lawmakers in an informal setting. Many personal relationships were developed and enhanced as a result of the event. This year was so successful, the chapter is planning to do it again next year.”
