Oklahoma Central Credit Union Gets Kids Wild About Saving
Wednesday, April 8, 2015 7:00 AM

Oklahoma Central Credit Union is celebrating national credit union youth month in April by showing youth and teens how to get Wild About Saving and helping them navigate the jungle of financial responsibility.

“As part of Oklahoma Central’s mission, we strive to make a difference in the communities we serve; and one way we do this is through financial literacy," said Oklahoma Central Credit Union President and CEO Gina Wilson. "We will focus on teaching kids the importance of saving, sharing, and spending smart. Since membership is open to all members of your family, it is our hope that starting this literacy early in your children’s lives will help to establish healthy money habits for their future."

During the Wild About Saving promotion, one lucky winner will receive a $250 education savings account. New and current members of the credit union can enter the drawing by opening and/or making deposits into youth savings accounts. Prizes will also be given out.

Parents can bring kids to one of four Oklahoma Central branch locations each Friday in April from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. to visit the money mammals—Joe the Monkey and Clara the Camel—and take selfies with the mascots to post to their social media accounts. Cookies and special activities will also be available for youngsters.
