Oklahoma Bankruptcy & Collections Seminars Quickly Approaching

The Bankruptcy and Collections Seminars will be in Oklahoma City on Aug. 9-10 at the Credit Union House. On the first day, presenter Frank Drake will focus on collections and such topics as the rules for proper repossession, the Military Lending Act, how to comply with the Service Members Civil Relief Act (SMCRA), how to use auto-dialers for debt collection and collection considerations in Member Business Lending.

The next day will be dedicated to just bankruptcy. During the seminar, attendees will learn about Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, freezing members’ funds, why they should attend creditors meetings, the denial of privileges policies, when to close existing members’ account, how to deal with employee bankruptcy, and much more.

Credit union employees encouraged to attend are: Presidents/CEOs/managers, loan officers, credit committee members/volunteers, collection officers, compliance officers, and any other credit union staff responsible for minimizing the credit union's exposure to bankruptcy losses, collections, or lenders in general would benefit from these seminars.
