Northeast Arkansas FCU Join a CU Signs

Northeast Arkansas Federal Credit Union employees joined a crowd of hundreds at the historic Greyhound Bus Station in Blytheville, Arkansas, recently to welcome TODAY Show weatherman, Al Roker. Roker was in Blytheville as part of an attempt to set the fastest time recorded for reporting the weather in all 50 states during Rokerthon 2.

Roker was beyond the halfway point of his nationwide goal when he visited Blytheville. While the NEAFCU staff did not make it on national television, the group, holding up a sign that read, “Join a Credit Union TODAY,” did make it into news broadcasts in Memphis, Tennessee, as well as Jonesboro and Little Rock, Arkansas, and received some attention on social media, including Twitter and Facebook.

Northeast Arkansas FCU Join a CU signs“Hopefully we introduced a few folks to credit unions who don’t already know the benefits of joining one,” said Jena Weld, NEAFCU marketing manager. “We may not have made the national news, but we grabbed some attention locally and regionally, even if for a brief moment; and we had the chance to visit our members outside of the credit union, which is invaluable interaction. You have to grab opportunities like this every chance you get, and we had a great time grabbing a bit of the spotlight for credit unions.”
