New CUNA Technology Council White Paper on EMV Tech/Security
Tuesday, November 25, 2014 6:40 AM

Smart cards are largely touted as safer transaction vehicles than magnetic-stripe (mag-stripe) cards, but does this mean all your credit union’s card fraud will vanish after issuing smart cards to members? What about fraud risk now and throughout the transition period? And what role should IT staff play in the move to the new payment technology?

A new white paper from the CUNA Technology Council, “EMV-Chip Technology: What to Expect as You Switch to Smart Cards,” examines:

  • Implementation
  • Dealing With the Data Breach Fall-Out
  • Protection From CNP Fraud
  • Formats and Options
  • Leadership and Collaboration
  • Awareness and Education
  • Mobile Payments and Payment Industry Trends

This white paper is the fourth in a series of four white papers devoted to security issues in 2014. The paper is available online in the white paper section of www.cunacouncils.org.

CUNA Council members are eligible to receive complimentary copies of this, and more than 300 other white papers.
