NCUA to Host Listening Session to Enhance MDIP Program

The National Credit Union Administration will host a listening session on May 25 at 2 p.m. EST to garner input regarding its Minority Depository Institutions Preservation (MDIP) program. The 90-minute event will be held at the agency’s headquarters in Alexandria; however, a free live-stream of the event, which requires registration, will be available here.

Monica Davy, director of the NCUA Office of Minority and Women Inclusion, will lead a panel of experts giving perspective on improving the MDIP program. The panelists attending include:

  • Timothy Anderson, board chairman, African American Credit Union Coalition
  • Carla Decker, board member, Network of Latino Credit Union Professionals
  • Robert Leonard, director, Division of Consumer Access, Officer of Consumer Protection, NCUA
  • Martha Ninichuk, deputy director, Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, NCUA
  • Pamela Owens, VP of programs, National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions
  • Elliot Weiss, supervision analyst, Region III, NCUA

A question and answer session will follow the panel. Those looking to submit questions in advance may do so at with subject line, “Sustaining Minority Depository Institutions Listening Session.”
