Wednesday, March 25, 2015 6:40 AM

NCUA has hired Edward Dorris as the agency’s chief information officer. Previously, Dorris served as CIO at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

"I am pleased to welcome Ed Dorris to NCUA," said NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz. "The chief information officer plays a critical role in any modern organization, and his 25 years of experience across the information technology field, coupled with his impressive list of accomplishments, makes him a very good fit for the agency. I am sure NCUA and the credit unions we regulate and insure will be well-served by having Ed on the team."

Dorris has held high-level positions in information technology relating to regulation, finance and human resources at the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Homeland Security. He has worked as an independent consultant for both public and private-sector organizations.

Dorris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in general studies with an emphasis in information technology and computer science from American University in Washington.
