Mustang Mania: Let’s Get Creative

Are you ready to really promote the fabulous opportunity to win a bright red 2016 Mustang, a 14kt gold diamond ring, and a trip for two to anywhere in the U.S. or Mexico? Posters and flyers are now available to assist with all your Mustang Mania promotion needs.

“Texoma Community Credit Union promotes Mustang Mania so more of my friends and family can enjoy the fun,” said Wayne Mansur, president/CEO, Texoma Community Credit Union. "I know I will never win, but the fun and anticipation is clearly worth $35. Most importantly, the proceeds are paid to our own Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation to help others."

Let’s think inside, outside, and all around the box for creative ways to provide and sell tickets:

  • Employee incentives for going above and beyond with a member or in their community
  • Prizes at chapter meetings in lieu of gift cards
  • Prizes at credit union annual meetings
  • Thank-you gifts

Additionally, fun campaigns centered around Mustang Mania can spike morale, while also supporting a worthwhile cause. Kenny Harrington, CEO of MemberSource Credit Union in Houston, implemented Mustang Mondays during last year’s campaign. It was such a success, he's continuing the campaign this year.

“If you purchase a ticket, you will be allowed to wear a credit union shirt with jeans (or dungarees, depending on your age), knee-length shorts, or capri pants for women every Monday in the months of June, July, and August, or 12 Mondays,” says Harrington. “In addition, there is no restriction on footwear, as long as there is some sort of sole under your feet... tennis shoes, flip flops or sandals are acceptable.”

Harrington adds, “Our goal at MemberSource is sharing knowledge, creating solutions. The mission and work of the Foundation align with what we try to do at MemberSource, whether financial education or providing a helping hand in the communities we serve. The work that Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation does is something our staff believes in, and we want to support their efforts.”

Mansur says, “After returning from the recent Cornerstone Credit Union League board meetings, I adopted this idea from my fellow board member, Kenny. In the first two days, we had several employees who've joined in the fun and will wear red on Monday until the drawing on Sept. 8.”

Tickets are $35 each, or 3 for $100, and only 3,000 will be sold. The winners do not need to be present to win for the drawing on Sept. 8 during the Leadership Conference.
