Power Hour #7

Andy Reed

Crisis Communication
Andy Reed, MBA, CUDE, CUBDP, BSACS, CUCE, Texas People FCU

It seems we’re living in a world where a major crisis unfolds nearly every day. At the 2018 CUNA Government Affairs Conference in Washington, DC, former President George W. Bush said, "in a time of crisis, people expect the leader to communicate. There’s no time to prepare, no time to consult with communication strategists, and silence is not an option." So what will you do when a crisis hits your credit union?

  • Define crisis (because contrary to popular belief, not everything is a crisis)
  • Crisis Impact Evaluation
  • Crisis communication timelines
  • Crisis communication is an inherently different type of communication
  • Crisis simulation for preparedness
  • After the crisis communication

No CPEs will be awarded for Power Hours.
