Stacey Gonzalez

Cornerstone Credit Union League is happy to announce that the Marketing & Business Development Council has presented the Professional of the Year Award to Stacey Gonzalez, culture and communications coordinator for AMOCO Federal Credit Union in Texas City, Texas.

The purpose of the award, created in 1993, is to recognize an individual for outstanding work in credit union marketing, communications, and business development. The award is selected by the Cornerstone Credit Union League Awards and Recognition Committee, which considers two overall areas of accomplishment: biographical information and four recent work samples.

The recipient of this year’s award is said to embody the "people helping people philosophy." Through community involvement and active participation, Gonzalez has helped enhanced the image and presence of her credit union. She creates and maintains an ever-expanding network of community business relationships to promote the credit union and brand awareness.

Gonzalez is very active herself in the community, including assisting the chamber of commerce, teaching financial education to young professionals, and planning and hosting local events to celebrate the partnerships with the credit union’s more than 500 select employee groups (SEGs).

Gonzalez takes great satisfaction is helping others achieve success as well, which is evident in the way she manages her team, coaching and guiding them to become great leaders of the future.

She is passionate about spreading the credit union difference and spotlighting her credit union. “I think it’s important to believe in what you’re promoting," Gonzalez has said. "When you believe in it, others see your passion, and they become believers too. That’s a beautiful thing!”
