Marketing and Business Development Council Finalists for Awards

A Look at the Four Finalists for Marketing and Business Development Professional of the Year

Four finalists have been announced for the Marketing and Business Development Council's Professional of the Year Award. The purpose of the award is to recognize an individual for outstanding work in credit union marketing, communications, and business development.

Nominees for this award must be a paid credit union employee from a league-affiliated credit union. The finalists are, in alphabetical order: 

Julia ArceneauxJulia Arceneaux
Business Development Coordinator, Gulf Coast Educators FCU
Pasadena, Texas

Arceneaux has embraced the credit union’s mission and has fully immersed herself into the education world. She has worked tirelessly to improve the credit union’s business development efforts and has created processes that allow fellow team members to succeed at business development on behalf of the credit union. Arceneaux has found new opportunities to take the credit union's business development efforts year round when, in the past, the credit union mirrored the school calendar. She has tied her efforts to the credit union’s corporate goals, which the credit union has exceeded each year since she has been with the credit union.

Stacey GonzalezStacey Gonzalez
Culture & Communications Coordinator, AMOCO FCU
Texas City, Texas

Gonzalez enhances the image and presence of AMOCO in the marketplace and attracts new select employee groups to the credit union's field of membership and handles the monitoring of the 550+ select employee groups the credit union serves. She manages several communications specialists and is active with the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce. She received the 2013 AMOCO GEM Award (Great Employees Matter), the Shooting Star Award through the Texas Credit Union League Marketing & Business Development Council, and the 2015 Cornerstone League Marketing & Business Development Council Rising Star Award.

Lindsey MurphyLindsey Murphy
VP Marketing, Education Credit Union
Amarillo, Texas

Murphy is responsible for all things marketing and public relations and has changed Education CU's marketing style to a creative, less traditional, and, at times, comical advertising style. When Murphy joined Education CU in 2009, the credit union's members numbered 16,512 and assets were $147,181,383. As of May 2016, membership has grown to 23,983 with asset of $241,390,130. Murphy helped transform the credit union's brand from “teachers only” to a community-wide credit union helping not only teachers, but the entire community throughout all stages of their lives. Murphy's advertising campaigns have been recognized with Lone Star, Pinnacle, and Diamond Awards. In addition, she has a passion for volunteering and has participated in more than 300 community events.

Teea ReedTeea Reed
VP Marketing and Business Development, Union Square CU
Wichita Falls, Texas

During her three-year tenure, Reed has successfully launched 17 marketing campaigns at Union Square CU, which have contributed to an increase in members, accounts, and loans. She established branding guidelines and created a new brand based on the family relationship between the credit union and its members. Reed has won Pinnacle and Diamond Awards, and the Spirit of Texoma Award, as well as being the first recipient of the Credit Union National Association’s Rising Star of the Year Award. She was recognized as the Big Brothers Big Sisters Regional Board Member of the Year, Junior League Board Member of the Year, and a Top 20 Under the Age of 40. Additionally, Reed helped start a Children’s Miracle Network movement and is active in the Wichita Falls Chapter of Credit Unions, the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s YP Chapter, and is establishing a Credit Unions for Kids Chapter in Wichita Falls.

Cornerstone Credit Union League wishes these four finalists the best of luck and look forward to showcasing the winner in a future edition of the Leaguer.

The winner will be recognized at the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Marketing & Business Development Conference Nov. 15-17.
