Richard Tim Rhoades, the 31-year president of Government Employees FCU in Austin, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, at his home in Georgetown, Texas. He was 66.

Rhoades had retired on Dec. 31, 2013, after serving GEFCU faithfully for 31 years. During his tenure, assets grew from $13 million to $121 million, and along with implementing many new products and member services over the years, he oversaw the expansion of the credit union in new locations in the Austin area.

Current GEFCU President/CEO Dee Crisp said Rhoades left a lasting legacy of commitment to the staff and members of the credit union.
