Leverage Social Media for International Credit Union Day Activities

Cornerstone Credit Union League has been telling you about the 100 Million Member campaign and the drive to help feed the hungry via local food banks, both of which are part of our International Credit Union Day celebration on Oct. 16. In doing so, we're also promoting the "Local Service, Local Good" theme that epitomizes what credit unions are all about.

One way to get the word out about International Credit Union Day is through social media. Here are the social media outlets and tags to use for making the most impact and reaching the widest audience:

  • Twitter: Include @CUNAadvocacy, #100MM, and #ICUday
  • Facebook: Share to CUNA Advocacy Facebook page and include #100MM and #ICUday
  • Instagram: Include #100MM and #ICUday
  • Vine: Tag @CUNAAdvocacy and include #100MM and #ICUday

Tell your personal credit union story with "selfies."

  1. Visit
  2. Click on "SEND US A SELFIE."
  3. Complete the online form, including name, email, city, and state.
  4. Tell your credit union story under, "Why are you proud to be a credit union member?"
  5. Upload a photo from images and pictures already on your computer, or choose a photo from Facebook or Twitter social media platforms.
  6. Check the "terms and conditions" box.
  7. Complete the "capture code."
  8. Click "submit" to send your photo.

Help us spread the word to your members, your community, and your lawmakers about the credit union difference across our region. Show them the growing strength of credit unions as a positive force in providing financial services to consumers and small businesses. On International Credit Union Day, we can share our powerful vision and celebrate with more than 200 million people worldwide that credit unions are the best financial partners for consumers.
