Mike Roark presents check to Courtney Moran
Lending Council Chair Mike Roark presents $10,000 check to Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran.

On Thursday, during the Southwest Lending Conference in Oklahoma City, Executive Committee of the Cornerstone Lending Council presented a check for $10,000 to the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation.

The mission of the Council is to serve the credit union movement as a premier association dedicated exclusively to supporting credit union lending practices, research, development, and evaluation. It was the Council’s third donation to the Foundation.

"The Lending Council firmly believes in education," said Chairman Mike Roark. "Our industry is changing rapidly, and we believe it is our responsibility to provide quality educational and training opportunities. We have been successful in these endeavors and feel obligated to pay it forward to an organization whose mission we feel truly makes a difference in the Cornerstone region."

Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran was on hand to accept the check. "The Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation is extremely grateful for the Lending Council’s generosity," said Moran. "Support such as this enables us to make a difference, one credit union, one member, and one community at a time.”

About the Lending Council
The Lending Council was launched by the Texas Credit Union league (now Cornerstone Credit Union League) in 2001. Currently, the Council has 261 members. Council membership is open to paid staff or volunteers from league-affiliated credit unions. Potential members may join by visiting the Lending Council web page.
