Southwest Lending Conference

Southwest Lending Conference, May 16-18, 2018, Galveston, Texas

Banks were formed to serve the wealthy. Credit unions were formed to serve the working class with loans. Does your credit union love to make loans, or does it just love to make loans to members with good credit? According to the Fair Isaac Corporation, 24 percent of the U.S. population now has a FICO credit score below 600 (i.e., subprime). Members with bad credit need a car to get to work, and even members with bad credit can choose to pay their credit union.

Join us at this year's Southwest Lending Conference in Galveston, Texas, May 16-18, as lending consultant Brett Christensen presents "Lending to Your Underserved Members," and learn the specific tools and motivation to help make loans to more of your underserved credit union members.

Brett ChristensenBrett Christensen is the owner of CU Lending Advice, LLC and works directly with credit unions in the U.S. and Canada teaching and consulting on various lending topics. His personal and entertaining speaking style have also made him a popular and sought-out speaker.

Christensen previously worked as a lending consultant and trainer for Lending Solutions Consulting, Inc. and as the chief sales officer of APPRO Systems, Inc., which purchased the Loan Link Lending Center for whom he served as president. Christensen also worked for five years at the $680 million Clark County Credit Union in Las Vegas, Nev. Prior to his career in financial services, he worked as a civil engineering officer in the United States Air Force. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the United States Air Force Academy in 1987 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 1991.

The annual Southwest Lending Conference is a great way for your credit union to ensure your staff is on the leading edge of industry trends, hot topics, and regulatory issues. Learn from experts in the field who will assist you in developing new ideas and strategies to maximize loan growth. And new for 2018: a track of five member business lending sessions.
