Cornerstone Lending Council Donates $25K to SE Texas Recovery Efforts

The Executive Committee of the Cornerstone Credit Union League Lending Council has generously voted to donate $25,000 to the Cornerstone Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund for those affected by Hurricane Harvey in southeast Texas.

The recent devastation South Texas has endured in the midst of Hurricane Harvey has affected thousands of people and caused potentially billions of dollars in damage, and one Texas-based credit union is joining in the relief effort. Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) announced today they are donating $100,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Texoma Educators FCU Joins Bushwackers for Harvey Relief

Texoma Educators Federal Credit Union, Durant, Okla., is partnering with Bushwackers Land Clearing to help provide relief for individuals and families affected by Hurricane Harvey. Trailers will be stationed at Walmart in Durant, 3712 W. Main St., taking donations beginning at 4 p.m. today, Aug. 31.

Yesterday, Cornerstone filed its comment letter to the National Credit Union Administration regarding its proposal for insurance and the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) equity distributions. Comments are due by Sept. 5, and Cornerstone encourages all credit unions to respond as soon as possible.
