Your Advocacy Calendar for 2018 Arkansas Election Cycle Dates

Immediately upon sine die of the Regular Session of the Arkansas' 91st General Assembly, fundraising events for the 2018 elections started popping up. Ron Harrod, Arkansas Credit Union Association lobbyist, said the fundraising events were for the benefit of seven constitutional officers, as well as 100 House seats and 17 of the 35 Senate seats.

46 CU Pros Become Certified CUDEs, 6 from Cornerstone Region

Forty-six credit union professionals became Credit Union Development Educators (CUDEs) after being guided by dedicated program facilitators and mentors through the intensive Credit Union Development Education (DE) Training from the National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation). Six of those graduates are from the Cornerstone region. The DE training was held Sept. 13–20 at the Lowell Center in Madison, Wis.

America’s Credit Union Museum Breaks Ground for Research Center and Library Expansion

America's Credit Union Museum broke ground for the CUNA Research Center and Ensweiler Research Library expansion at the museum on Sept. 28. Nearly 70 attendees heard comments from Mike L'Ecuyer, president and CEO of Bellwether Community Credit Union and chairman for the museum, as well as Dick Ensweiler, retired President/CEO of the Cornerstone Credit Union League; Jim Nussle, President/CEO of Credit Union National Association; and the Honorable Ted Gatsas, mayor of Manchester.

Yahoo's 2013 Data Breach Worse Than Previously Disclosed

Yahoo on Tuesday said that all 3 billion of its accounts were hacked in a 2013 data theft, tripling its earlier estimate of the size of the largest breach in history, in a disclosure that attorneys said sharply increased the legal exposure of its new owner, Verizon Communications Inc.
