Leadership Conference & Expo: Healthcare Reform, Are You Ready?
Friday, July 5, 2013 3:40 AM

The year 2014 will be a critical year in regards to Health Care Reform’s compliance requirements and potential opportunities for your credit union. In the wake of the November elections, as well as the Supreme Court decision upholding Health Care Reform, it’s imperative that credit unions stay on top of these requirements. At the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Sept. 5-7 Leadership Conference & Expo in San Antonio, Brad Pricer with the CUNA Mutual Group and Annette Bechtold with Digital Insurance will present a thought provoking session, “Healthcare Reform Requirements – Are You Ready.”

The health care reform law signed in March 2010 has already profoundly changed how many credit unions administer group benefit plans. But the most sweeping regulatory changes in the law’s requirements will come in 2014 and beyond. Or, perhaps the next legislative cycle will turn the new regulations inside-out. In either case, credit unions need to do more than just react to legislation. They need to understand what’s ahead, what the impact is and how to prepare for it.

This will provide a comprehensive overview of the expectations this law and others place on employers, updates on the status of the regulations and potential upcoming changes, the risks of being out of compliance and practical steps to meet obligations the law requires. Attendees will leave the session armed with tools to assure timely compliance, knowledge of potential changes to reform and its impact, as well as other applicable regulations.
