July 28 is Deadline to Submit Your Entry for Dora Maxwell & Louise Herring Awards
Friday, July 11, 2014 6:55 AM

Time is running out to submit entries for the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award Program and the Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award. Credit unions must submit their entries to the Cornerstone Credit Union League by July 28.

Both recognition programs identify credit unions that demonstrate the credit union "people-helping-people" philosophy. The Dora Maxwell award program honors the work of credit unions in the community, and the Louise Herring award program recognizes the practical application of credit union philosophy in daily internal operations.

When you enter the Dora Maxwell competition, your credit union will compete with others in the same asset category. Chapters/multiple credit unions involved in community activities are eligible to enter the chapter/multiple credit unions category. Entrants in the Louise Herring competition will also compete with credit unions in the same asset category. Credit unions in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas will not compete against one another. For each asset category, Cornerstone will select a first, second, third and honorable mention from all three states, and only first place winners will advance to CUNA for the national competition. Please note that at the national level, Cornerstone credit unions will not only compete with one another, but they will also compete with other credit unions in their asset category from across the country.
