IRAs Great Savings Tool, Register for IRA Seminars
Friday, February 7, 2014 6:35 AM

According to recent analysis by the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI), current levels of Social Security benefits, coupled with at least 30 years of 401(k) savings eligibility, could provide most workers with an annual income of at least 60 percent of their preretirement pay on an inflation-adjusted basis. By most estimates, you'll generally need at least 70 percent of your final working years' income each year to maintain your lifestyle after retiring. So aside from Social Security and 401(k), how can consumers save additional money for retirement? Deborah Crawford says IRAs are a great savings tool, and one that she encourages credit unions to promote to their members.

Feb. 26-27, Crawford will present the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s IRA Basics and IRA Advanced seminars in Houston. If you have not yet registered, please note that online registration is available.

At the IRA Basics seminar, Crawford will focus on IRA Basics. This seminar is essential for IRA administrators new to IRAs, as well as those looking to gain additional knowledge about IRAs. In the IRA Advanced seminar, Crawford will focus on compliance, auditing and reporting. She will cover everything credit union professionals need to know about IRAs, including legislative updates.

MemberSource CU will host the two-day program. For more information, including registration, please visit the Education section of Cornerstone’s website. If you have any questions, please contact Training & Events, at (469) 385-6630 or (800) 442-5762, ext. 6630
