Insight into Texas Politics: Evan Smith and Ross Ramsey Lead General Session at TCUL GAC and Member Meeting & Expo
Tuesday, March 12, 2013 8:20 AM

From water to finances, the state of Texas is facing big changes in 2013. And, if you’re planning to attend the Texas Credit Union League (TCUL) Governmental Affairs Conference and Member Meeting & Expo April 2-5 in Austin, you’ll have the chance to hear all about them during the General Session, which will explore Texas politics, policy and civics.

During “Insight into Texas Politics” on Thursday, April 4, journalists Evan Smith and Ross Ramsey will delve into topics such as the legislative session, transportation, water, a massive freshman class, education, school finance and personalities, and how all these topics are playing together. They’ll also take a look at Texas politics and the big players – from Rick and Greg to George P. and Ted – and how their policies are affecting our state.

Evan Smith is the editor-in-chief of the non-profit, non-partisan The Texas Tribune. The Austin-based, digital news organization provides extensive coverage of Texas politics and public policy. Ross Ramsey also works at The Texas Tribune as executive editor, in addition to his position as editor of Texas Weekly, the premier newsletter on government and politics in Texas.
