Innovative Fundraising to Benefit Oklahoma’s Children
Wednesday, May 28, 2014 6:40 AM

The Focus FCU has long been a supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) and is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to give more.  Paul Arambula, Focus FCU Business Development and Media Representative, wondered how to raise more money without spending any.  His solution proposed increasing ATM fees to non-members and donating the .25 cent increase to Children’s Miracle Network.

“Credit unions have a national partnership with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” said Kyle Roush, The Focus FCU president and CEO. “We are proud to partner with OU Children’s Hospital to help raise money to support this vital community resource.”

The change was implemented on April 1, 2014.  The first month, the credit union increased donations by $594 and is on track to contribute more than $7000 to CMN in 2014.

“This idea is something other credit unions can easily implement,” says Roush.  The change occurred after a single phone call to our ATM processor.”

The Focus FCU sponsors a number of programs and events throughout the year supporting Children’s Miracle Network and the Children’s Hospital Foundation as part of the national Credit Unions for Kids initiative.

Last year, Oklahoma credit unions donated $198,000 to the Children’s Miracle Network.
