International Credit Union Day 2016
The Authentic Difference

International Credit Union Day is a day of celebration for credit unions around the world to showcase the spirit of the credit union movement:  People helping people. Every day millions of people are touched by credit unions. As not-for-profit financial cooperatives, credit unions are governed not by financial gain, but by an unwavering commitment to help people meet their financial goals.

That's why governors from all three states in the Cornerstone region have made official proclamations declaring Oct. 20, 2016, as Credit Union Day, in coordination with International Credit Union Day. Gov. Mary Fallin in Oklahoma, Gov. Asa Hutchinson in Arkansas, and Gov. Greg Abbott in Texas have announced their support and acknowledged the many contributions of credit unions to the communities they serve.

These proclamations are a great way to show the public that credit unions are a strong economic and social force. This year's theme, "The Authentic Difference" emphasizes the distinct positive impact credit unions have on communities around the world.
