Housing Deadline for CUNA GAC is Jan. 8
Tuesday, January 7, 2014 6:25 AM

Important announcement…If you are attending the Credit Union National Association’s Governmental Affairs Conference Feb. 23-27 in D.C., and have secured your hotel accommodations through the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s housing block, please be aware that Jan. 8 is the last day you will be able to cancel your hotel reservation to receive a full deposit back. Any reservations cancelled on and/or after Jan. 9 will be subject to a $275 cancellation fee. Please note that all reservations, changes and cancellations must be made with the housing bureau by Jan. 29, at 4:30 p.m. (EST).

Cornerstone-affiliated credit unions with questions regarding housing should contact Cookie Dorsey, Cornerstone training director, at (800) 442-5762, ext. 6635 or email cdorsey@cornerstoneleague.coop.

In keeping with tradition, Cornerstone is hosting a number of events at the GAC, including a legislative briefing and a Spirit of Washington dinner cruise during the Feb. 23-27 conference. These two events are open only to Cornerstone affiliated-credit unions. Attendees will need to register for these two events on Cornerstone’s website, at www.cornerstoneleague.coop/gac.html.

There is no charge for the legislative briefing, which will take place Feb. 24, at 4:15 p.m. The briefing should last about one hour and a meeting location will be announced at a later date. Attendees can expect a review of the most recent federal issues affecting credit unions.

The Sprit of Washington dinner cruise will be Feb. 25, and the cost is $125 per person, which includes dinner, open bar and transportation to and from the hotel.

Additionally, credit unions can submit an online request for Cornerstone to schedule an appointment with their district representative. To submit this request, attendees will need to click on “Registration” and from there they can select “register myself” or “register someone else from my organization (non-guest).” On this page, visitors will have the option to check a box for the legislative briefing and the Spirit of Washington dinner cruise. There is also a “Meeting Request” section. From the drop down menu bar you can select which representatives you’d like to meet with. You will then click “Save and Check Out.”
