GSD Conference: Engaging Members through Tablet and Smartphone Applications
Thursday, September 26, 2013 5:30 AM

You don’t need a pile of data to be convinced that smartphones, tablets, and other wirelessly networked devices are transforming everyday life. Still, Brett Wooden, founder and president of Brett Wooden Consulting encourages credit unions to consider this factoid: The rate of iPhone and Android device adoption has surpassed that of any consumer technology in history. In fact, these devices are being adopted 10 times faster than the PC was in the 1980s and three times faster than social media.

Given this dramatic shift in consumer behavior, Wooden says credit unions want (and need) to leverage the mobile app revolution. At the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s second annual Get Stuff Done (GSD) Conference Oct. 21-22 in Austin, Wooden will present, “There's an App for That: How to Engage Members through Tablet & Smartphone Applications.”

The GSD Conference is geared towards credit union professionals 35 and under who are tuned into the cooperative movement, passionate about the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” and have a desire to showcase the credit union difference in their communities.

Young credit union professionals interested in attending the upcoming conference should register early to secure a seat at the conference. Additional information is available online, at
