How the PATH Act of 2015 Affects Your Members

President Obama signed the PATH Act in December of 2015. The PATH Act of 2015 contains several pension- and benefits-related provisions, including permanent extensions of temporary tax provisions that had been routinely extended by Congress on a one- or two-year basis. Some of the provisions include:

  • Nontaxable IRA transfers to eligible charities made permanent.
  • Rollovers allowed from retirement plans to SIMPLE accounts.
  • Waiver of 10 percent early withdrawal tax for distributions made to public safety employees expanded to include additional categories of federal employees

Learn more about how these changes affect your members and your credit union at upcoming Cornerstone’s IRA seminars

  • Day One, IRA Basics: designed for those with 1-3 years of IRA experience.
  • Day Two, IRA Advanced: compliance, auditing, and reporting.
