Generations Federal Credit Union Announces 2013 Future Leader Scholarship Recipients

Generations Federal Credit Union recently announced the winners of its 2013 Future Leader Scholarship program. Ten fortunate students from across the community will each receive $1,250 for tuition and education-related expenses as they pursue their schooling.

The 2013 Future Leader Scholarship recipients are: Argelia Gomez (University of the Incarnate Word), Zachary Gorhum (Texas A&M University – College Station), Jayme Greene (The University of Texas at Austin), Stacia Lamey (The University of Texas at Austin), Lillian Martinez (San Antonio College), Jasmyne McPherson (The University of Texas at San Antonio), Jasmine Medrano (Texas Lutheran University), Peter Northrop (Northwest Vista College), Everardo Olvera (Northeast Lakeview College) and Stephanie Patillo (San Antonio College).

The Generations Federal Credit Union Future Leader Scholarship is designed to recognize students whose activities – be they academic, religious or civic – will better the community and citizenship of San Antonio and its surrounding areas.

“For more than 70 years, Generations has a strong history of giving back to our community, so we wanted the Future Leader Scholarship program to support students who, through their education and talents, will continue this tradition of service and dedication to our community,” said Steve Schipull, president and CEO of Generations.  “These students are a bright, motivated and driven, and they are a great testament to the kind of leaders we can expect to guide our community to its bright future.”

Future Leader Scholarship applicants can be graduating high school seniors, current undergraduate students, graduate students, doctoral, post-doctoral and/or continuing education, trade school and vocational school students. The scholarships may be used for any educational or educational-related expenses the student may incur. 

Generations will begin accepting applications for the 2014 Future Leadership Scholarship program in the fall.
