Generations FCU says it will once again serve as sponsor of San Antonio’s Eastside Midnight Basketball League.  The season kicked off with a press conference at the Davis Scott YMCA and included Ivy Taylor, councilwoman District 2, Sandy Morander, president and CEO of YMCA San Antonio and Police Chief William McManus.  The second season will include a League for women and will kick-off on Friday, June 21.  The 2013 League will feature 12 men’s teams and four women’s teams, although the League’s organizers hope to add additional teams in years to come.

Generations served as Title Sponsors for the League’s successful inaugural season in 2012, which was hailed as an outstanding late-night alternative for more than 100 local at-risk youth.  The season was also co-sponsored by the San Antonio Spurs who sent talent scouts to the games.  For the 2013 season, the Spurs requested to serve as Title Sponsors and Generations was named as a co-sponsors.  Additional sponsors for the League include the United Way Neighborhood Promise Grant through the U.S. Department of Education and the YMCA of San Antonio.
