Generations FCU National Night Out

Generations FCU broke its previous participation record, partnering with five San Antonio-area neighborhood associations and organizations for 2013 National Night Out.  National Night Out, celebrating its 30th year, brings together neighbors and peace officers to promote safety and a sense of community.

The GFCU Northwest branch worked directly with the Thunderbird Hills Neighborhood Association for their 16th annual National Night out Party.  The event welcomed families and friends from the area surrounding the Branch and featured food, drinks, kids’ activities and door prizes (and lots of cupcakes!)

The credit union’s Balcones Heights-branch partnered directly with the City of Balcones Heights that also featured food, drinks, and a great demonstration with the BHPD Canine Unit.

The Eastside W.W. White branch partnered with the Dellcrest Neighborhood Association, and the GFCU-HEB Potranco Retail Branch partnered with the San Antonio Creekside Neighborhood Association.  The GFCU-HEB Tezel Retail branch celebrated National Night Out with an in-store event.

National Night Out is a significant event in San Antonio, garnering the second highest attendance rate of any NNO celebration in the country.  In some cases, GFCU staff worked for months with area neighborhood association on advance planning and preparation.
