Generations FCU CEO to Go 'Over the Edge' for Junior Achievement
Friday, May 6, 2016 7:00 AM

Steve Schipull

Steve Schipull, Generations Federal Credit Union president and CEO, will participate in Over the Edge, a fundraiser for Junior Achievement of South Texas on Saturday, May 7, where he will rappel down 15 stories of the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel in downtown San Antonio.

Generations FCU will be livestreaming Schipull’s rappel from Facebook at and will be teasing the livestream on their other accounts, including Twitter @generationsfcu and Instagram @generationsfcu.

“I always welcome the opportunity to push myself into new experiences, and Over the Edge is an excellent chance to have some fun and raise awareness for all the great work that Junior Achievement does,” said Schipull. “Our staff members generously stepped up to the plate to support this cause, so as I like to joke, they pushed me over the edge.”

Schipull raised more than $1,000 for Junior Achievement in order to participate as a rappeller or “edger.”

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. Schipull will be dedicating his rappel to his brother Rod, who passed away a year ago Saturday.

Founded in 1940, Generations has a rich history of serving the City of San Antonio, San Antonio Fire Department, and San Antonio Police Department employees and their families. Generations Federal Credit Union is now one of the largest credit unions in San Antonio with more than 53,000 members and $620 million in assets.
