Futurist Lisa Bodell to Keynote CUNA GAC
Tuesday, January 19, 2016 6:25 AM

Advocacy and compliance staffs from the Cornerstone Credit Union League are excited to join Cornerstone Credit Union League-affiliated credit unions at the 2016 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, which runs Feb. 21-25 in Washington, DC. One reason for all the excitement is the lineup of keynoters. This year, acclaimed journalist and ABC Nightline anchor Ted Koppel will deliver a keynote address, as will Lisa Bodell, innovation expert and founder/CEO of FutureThink.

If you're attending the CUNA GAC, here are two big reasons to go right now to the Cornerstone website:

  1. Complete the Congressional Meeting Request form on the registration page.
  2. Indicate which members of Congress you'd like to visit.

Keynoter Lisa Bodell is an inspired speaker who has brought her message to more than 30 countries and nearly 100,000 people each year. She was ranked the top speaker at Google’s client events in 2014. Bodell also serves as a global council member of the World Economic Forum, and has helped thousands of senior leaders ignite innovation at Bloomberg, Pfizer, Lockheed Martin, and others.

Her presentation follows the message of her bestselling book Kill the Company: End the Status Quo, Start an Innovation Revolution, which won the 2014 Axiom Best Business Book Award and was voted Best Business Book by USA Book News and Booz & Co. Bodell has appeared on NPR, FOX News, and in Fast Company, The New York Times, and WIRED. She is a monthly columnist for strategy+business, and a frequent contributor to Forbes and Harvard Business Review.

To add to her many accomplishments, Bodell is an advisor on the boards of the Association of Professional Futurists and Novartis’ Diversity and Inclusion Board in Basel, Switzerland. Last but not least, she's an alumnus of the world-renown TedTalks.

The CUNA GAC is the premier event of the credit union movement. The conference brings together thousands of credit union leaders from across the country to advocate at league-coordinated GAC Hike the Hill events, during which attendees meet with members of the U.S. Congress and engage them in conversations on important credit union issues.

In March, the bankers and their powerful lobbyists will descend on the Hill in force, so it's critical that credit union leaders take advantage of every opportunity to get ahead of them and visit with lawmakers during the CUNA GAC.
