On International Credit Union Day, the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation presented the Money Mammals financial literacy curriculum to approximately 375 students at Nita Pearson Elementary School in Rowlett, Texas.

"Foundation staff are usually the ones training the trainers," said Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran, "but to observe this special day, we wanted to practice what we preach and teach by providing financial education concepts to the kids. So, we had the pleasure of reaching students firsthand, and I know the kids had as much fun learning about saving from us as we did teaching them."

Your Foundation staff, including Moran, Emily Moreno (grants manager), and Staci Zale (director of development), taught the students how to set simple goals, earn and save money, and the difference between needs and wants. They also read Joe the Monkey Saves for a Goal, by John Lanza, and played music videos from the Money Mammals DVD.
