Foundation Contributions Make a Real Difference
Wednesday, December 17, 2014 6:50 AM

It takes just a moment to check “Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation (CSCUF)” on the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Annual Dues Statement, but the good that comes from your donation will last all year long.

Your donation can make a difference across the Cornerstone region through scholarships and educational training grants, financial education initiatives, emergency assistance for credit union staff when disaster strikes, and by helping credit unions reach out to their communities.

“The requests by credit unions for professional development continue to rise, along with the need for more financial education efforts throughout the region," said CSCUF Executive Director Courtney Moran. The generous support we receive each year enables us to give right back to the credit union community, therefore increasing your ability to grow and reach your goals."

In 2014, the Foundation provided over $316,803 in training calendar and Hispanic outreach grants, financial education initiatives, SCMS scholarships, and CIF development grants including technology, audit, and planning sessions, along with more than $100,000 in program delivery to promote financial education. This included free FOCUS Train the Trainer workshops for the NEFE High School Financial Planning Program and the BizKid$ Program to credit union staff, volunteers, educators, and community partners.

“It is critical that we have a successful fundraising season, as the needs for our programs and assistance will be more important than ever," Moran said. "We also want our donors to know that their contributions are used wisely and do make a tremendous difference.”

Credit unions can check their dues statement to contribute either a suggested amount of $.10 per member or a specific donation amount. CSCUF also accepts donations from credit unions, chapters, and individuals all year long.
