Fort Worth Chapter Raising Money for Dallas Assist the Officers Fund
Friday, July 15, 2016 7:00 AM

The events in Dallas last week have no doubt had an impact on you, your staff, and your membership. In response to this tragedy, the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions has been working with the Tarrant County Law Enforcement Association on a fundraising event to benefit the Dallas Police Association’s Assist the Officers Fund.

The event will be held on Saturday, July 23, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rock Woodfire Kitchen, 2300 East Lamar in Arlington.

Tents will be set up in the restaurant parking lot and several community organizations have been invited to attend. The restaurant will contribute 25 percent of their sales from the event to the cause. Additional funds will be raised through the sale of window decals and donated T-shirts. The Fort Worth Chapter is currently collecting donations to purchase the window decals. Again, these decals will be sold the day of the event to raise funds for the charity.

Click on this link to find a form to pledge your financial support that also contains instructions on how to remit your donation. Please give as generously as you are able, as soon as possible but no later than Monday, July 25.

The Chapter is also seeking volunteers to assist in selling the window decals and T-shirts on July 23, the day of the event. Volunteers should wear the red Credit Union Cares T-shirts the day of the event. If volunteers do not have these T-shirts, the Chapter can assist in getting them from Cornerstone Credit Union League very quickly.

If you have volunteers who are available to assist, please contact Melissa Burleson with Tarrant County’s Credit Union.

This endeavor is part of the Chapter's monthly service campaign and focuses on cooperative principle number 7, Concern for the Community.

If you have any questions, or would like any additional information, please contact Melissa Burleson with Tarrant County’s Credit Union at or 817-884-1470, ext. 136.
