FOCUS Summit: From Financial Education to Financial Capability
Wednesday, March 1, 2017 6:30 AM

FOCUS Summit

We can educate consumers and provide access to financial products and services, but how do we help consumers use their knowledge and tools to improve their financial behavior and become financially healthy? Josh Sledge, director on The Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI) Program Team, has the answers you're looking for.

Join Sledge as he rounds out our distinguished lineup of experts at the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation's FOCUS Summit on March 30-31 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel near the Galleria in Dallas.

Sledge will unpack the financial capability framework and show how providers are leveraging technology, behavioral design, and partnerships. He points to the Financial Capability Innovation Fund (FCIF), a five-year initiative that he helped develop to support innovative, nonprofit-led projects that tested new strategies for building financial capability among LMI and underserved consumers.

Josh SledgeSledge has been with CFSI since 2009. He manages and advises on research projects, consulting engagements, and initiatives designed to support innovators with solutions for improving financial health. Prior to joining CFSI, Sledge was a senior investment analyst at Prudential Capital Group, an investment division of Prudential Financial. He holds a Masters in liberal studies from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's in business administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

The FOCUS Summit is open to all credit union professionals, community leaders, and educators. The two-day event is an opportunity for financial education advocates to network, share best practices, learn about available resources, and explore proven techniques and strategies for deploying financial education into their local schools and communities.
