Five Reasons You Should Attend Marketing & Business Development Conference
Thursday, August 1, 2013 5:30 AM

Balancing the demands of our professional and personal lives can be a challenge; so trying to squeeze an off-site training program into our hectic schedules may seem unfathomable. However, sometimes being in a face-to-face setting like a conference can be just want we need to ignite our passion, quench our thirst for knowledge, and broaden our perspective.

Credit union marketing and business development professionals, presidents, CEOs, and really anyone connected with member contact and the products or operations of the credit union will have that opportunity when the Cornerstone Credit Union League hosts its Marketing & Business Development Conference Sept. 3-5 in San Antonio.

With the appropriate theme, Evolve, this year’s conference features five general sessions and 12 breakout educational sessions. Online registration is available, and those planning to attend should register by Aug. 2, to take advantage of the best conference and hotel rates.

Not sure if you should attend? Consider these reasons:

  1. Educational opportunities. No matter how knowledgeable and experienced you are, there is always an opportunity to learn more. The financial services industry is highly-competitive, and it’s imperative that we stay on top of our game, or risk becoming obsolete. The educational sessions at this year’s conference will expose attendees to new ideas, emerging trends and best practices.
  2. Networking with peers. The Marketing & Business Development Conference provides a great opportunity to network. From your peers, you can uncover new ideas and gain inspiration.
  3. Meet new vendors and suppliers. The Expo Hall at this year’s conference is the perfect opportunity to discover what new and innovative products and services are available to help your credit union improve operational efficiency, as well as be more responsive to the needs of your members.
  4. Position yourself as an expert. The more knowledgeable you are about industry issues and market trends, the more influence you will have.
  5. Have fun. Certainly your primary focus is to learn, but you should also make time to share in laughter and experiences with your peers, and explore your surroundings.
