First Class American Credit Union hosted yesterday's CU Ride tour from their location to the Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. In addition to First Class American (FCACU), five other credit unions participated: EECU, Members Choice FCU, Tarrant County's CU, Texas People FCU, and Texas Trust CU.

FCACU's CEO Nancy M. Croix-Stroud reported that the group consisted of 10 motorcycle riders, 6 CU-wrapped cars, 2 classic vehicles, and about 6-8 other drivers who delivered approximately 400 stuffed animals from First Class American, Cornerstone, Texas Trust, and EECU to Cook Children's.

FCACU staff prepared, bagged, and sold slices of cake to the public and served hotdogs and sausage dogs to all CU Ride participants. They raised $143 from their cake dessert sale, and FCACU members brought in another 10 stuffed animals for the CU Ride participants to deliver to Cook Children's. With their leftovers, FCACU fed about 75 people at the Fort Worth homeless shelter—two community events in one, as it turned out!

CUs Care in Fort Worth"Our members are proud that their credit union supports Cook Children’s Medical Center and can always be counted on to contribute to whatever event we are supporting, whether it be Children’s Miracle Network or Tarrant County Food Bank, or providing food to the homeless shelter," Croix-Stroud said. "Hosting the CUs Care Ride is one more way to show our communities and our membership the good that credit unions do in the community. CUs Care!"

Cornerstone Credit Union League EVP Karen Hart, who led the CU Ride Motorcycle Tour as part of the Credit Unions Care Campaign, said, "I couldn't be more pleased with the turnout in Fort Worth. We definitely turned heads in downtown with all our red shirts, bikes, and credit union cars. It's great to see our credit unions come together as one and help CMN and our communities. The children were so thankful, and I believe we all left feeling very blessed."

"FCACU is proud to have supported Children’s Miracle Network and the CU 4 Kids program for more than 20 years," Croix-Stroud said. "We are honored to have been the host of the first CU Ride event, and hope it is the beginning of many more CUs Care events throughout the next year."
