First Class American CU Gives Back to Local Food Bank
Wednesday, December 10, 2014 6:55 AM

Food banks are in need of monetary and food donations throughout the year, but the holidays are a tough time for many families. First Class American Credit Union contributes to the Tarrant County Food Bank each year during the month of December.

One way they encourage donations is by having the ticket to their annual Christmas party for staff and directors in the form of a bag of canned goods. Each person who donated the goods, receives a door prize ticket for every five canned items they donated. This year, the credit union gave away $1,200 worth of door prizes at the party.

In the past, First Class has averaged a 700-pound donation of food to families in need. President of First American CU, Nancy Croix-Stroud, says, “You never know who is having difficulty in their lives and needs a little extra help. Giving not only helps the community, but those facing hard times. We know that while our donation may seem small, it helps families in Tarrant County with the extra help they need—not only daily, but during the Christmas holiday.”

The credit union is accepting donations through December 17.
