Find a Small CU Workshop Near You
Thursday, August 3, 2017 6:40 AM

Every year the League provides training workshops for small credit unions. All workshops are open to affiliated small credit unions and their staff, directors, and volunteers. This year's topics include accounting, lending and updates on regulations.

Dr. Paul Withey will start out the workshop by presenting on lending strategies and how to get the most out of them. The "three R's of lending" risk, rate and reward will also be discuses. Withey will help small credit unions learn how to use rates effectively, how to risk smart, and how both of these will create reward for the credit union.

Are major changes in accounting regulations affecting your credit union? Learn how to prepare for those changes as well as how to implement the changes that have already occurred with Pamela Blevins, Remote Financial Services Manager for Credit Union Resources. Pamela will also talk about this year's examiner hot topics and how to prepare for CECL requirements. She will also talk about how to select the right types of audits and how using Credit Union Resources can greatly benefit your credit union.

Lorri Gaither, VP of the Small Credit Union department, will close out the day with hot topics. She will discuss the resources available to small credit union's through the League and other organizations. There are seven workshops available to small credit union's in the Cornerstone region.
